This challenge aims to build a Self-Sovereign Identity-based Curriculum Vitae (CV). It should allow companies academic- and other institutions to validate claims that a person has finished a particular education or worked in a specific company. Furthermore, work certificates should also be included. To ensure GDPR compliance, data should not be stored on a central server but remain in possession of the CV holder. The solution MUST focus on holding the relevant data in a text-based, fully standardized, and machine-interpretable format and not image hashes.
The NTN Innovation Booster – Blockchain Nation Switzerland is looking for a technical solution for an open and permissionless blockchain/DLT-based registration and trading platform for CO2 emission certificates. This technical solution should be open source and provide open access to develop new innovative business ideas (applications) for emission certificate registration and trading. Within the challenge, the development of a functional PoC is expected. To be considered, please provide first ideas about the technical concepts and architecture.
Blockchains are not able to access data outside their network. However, smart contracts often need external information to function. An Oracle service is the way smart contracts access this third-party information. Nevertheless, there is always the problem of trust towards the Oracle service. Therefore, several approaches to solve this problem (e.g. checking multiple services and taking a majority decision). Within the scope of this challenge, the teams should come up with algorithms and concepts for a Proof of Location Oracle service and implement a prototype.

With this challenge, the NTN Innovation Booster – Blockchain Nation Switzerland wants to create a shared DLT platform were to automate corporate accounting flows (liquidity, creditors, debtors, and wages), integrating information flows deriving from movements in traditional currency (FIAT) and cryptographic currency (stable coins) in a 100% paperless accounting standard and automatically integrating this financial transaction in tradition companies balance sheet/accounting systems.
Create a secure and sustainable supply chain of building materials! The real estate industry is the most crucial causer of waste (SALZA Study on behalf of BAFU, May 2020). Once the material is built in a structure, the data of the material is lost. Therefore, these materials are becoming “waste” instead of “resources” when a building has reached the end of its lifecycle. Creating a digital twin with a unique identification of the material’s qualities will allow reuse knowledge of how to recycle or how to dispose of these materials.
This challenge consists of setting up a decentralized autonomous project management (DAPM) tool. The DAPM should provide all necessary features to govern the creation, management, and evaluation of projects. The DAPM acts as an organization that produces projects. A customer outlines a project, and the DAPM takes over recruiting project members, the idea generation, and the project management. As the first proof of concept, the DAPM will be tested with bachelor students of the ZHAW within the elective module “Business Value of Blockchain”. The lecturer delegates the student projects to the DAPM, and the students can take over tasks issued by the DAPM. The central part of this challenge lies in putting the technical and architectural solutions in place.
